Alright so I'm going to do my best at not repeating anything that's already been posted. First time post but I've been researching on DSM for about a year now, never needed to post till now.

I have a 97 eclipse gst that I've done a few things to. Catalytic coverter is gutted, and that big a** resonator is gone and straight piped, also got a flowmaster muffler so it's close to being straight piped all the way. With that being said, the O2 sensor is tricked thanks to some research on here.

Now the intake side all I did was get a k&n air filter that went to the ugly stock box and cut some of the dump tube away so it had better air flow. Everything has been fine for about 6 months.

To the issue, I bought a cone filter and the adaptor and intalled it 2 days ago and now at about 2k rpms to 4,5k rpms the car feels "restricted" when WOT. I can gradually press the pedal and it'll be ok but I'm not getting the response like b4.

Any advice will help. I'm assuming it's getting too much air now. Ive checked for leaks or faulty wiring.
Also I'm not at stock boost, it's at 16psi. Like I said everything has been fine for 6 months or longer.

You must have a boost leak somewhere, recheck your connections again, make sure the intake is tight on the turbo. Also check your maf is plugged in correctly, although it would run much worse if disconnected. Your problem is NOT the filter. Recheck your work and tighten up everything I think you have a boost leak.

So I finally got a few bux to spare and bought a BIG K&N filter and that fixed the lag I had. After testing it a few days ago I figured it wasn't getting enough air. So problem solved. More air, more power, you can hear the turbo spooling very well and the bov releasing :D now about to purchase the Greddy BOV so I'll have true 16lbs instead of the pos 2g that leaks around 11-12psi. Thx for the help!
