Thank you for everyone's amazing support this past weekend. The World Cup Finals just keeps growing and growing! We just cannot believe how big this event has become. Royce and I have decided to make this event a 3-Day event in 2012, and the date next year will be Friday-Sunday, November 2-4, 2012. We will also have parking and move-in on Thursday next year.
The battles we face with this event are space limitations in the pit area for racers, and daylight hours for great warm racing weather. With over 600-700 cars running in this event every year for the last 10 years, we just cannot get the event finished during the daylight hours like we would really like to. The only way to rectify those two issues of pit area space and time issues to cut some of the car count down.
We have made the decision in 2012 to only run Heads-Up and Index classes only (we may add another Index class also). The ET cars have been a part of this event since it's beginning and we really hate to cut any class from the event, but the ET class just simply has too many cars in to get the event done. We need to get this event down to around 450-500 cars. We can achieve this with the heads-up and Index classes and with a 3-Day event (Qualifying on Friday and Saturday for Heads-Up and Index).
These changes will make for a much smoother event and more space in the pit area for heads-up and Index racers.
