let me start off by saying i just got this car not to long ago. it is a 95 gst with a six bolt swap, it starts up fine and idles for a little bit then just slowly shuts off. it is throwing two codes, an evap sensor and a map sensor. but this car doesnt even have either one to replace. i was wondering if i need these or do i just need something like dsm link so i can program it to just ignore the codes. mainly tho does it sound like that is the reason why it wont stay running, i really need this car to run...

I live in New Bern. Obviously not far from you. Give me a call. I have a 98 GSX. I can probably help you with your problem if you explain it more. But sounds really simple.

BTW, I have a working Link v3 setup you can use. We can try a few things to get your problem solved. Gimme a jingle.

There is a coolant sensor attached to the thermostat housing, just under the neck if i remember correctly. If that sensor is bad or in the most common case the connector breaks you may get a similar affect to what you are having. I dont know much about the 6bolt swaps on a 2g but on my first gen I have similar symptoms as yours. Wouldnt idle and just die. Check that out if you havent.

Lol that's your white 2g sittin in slocum right? Yea dude i told vargas to tell you to check the Coolant temp sensor, had a problem with that in my galant when i got it running. Does that thing have dsmlink? If it does we can find out right away if that's your problem.
