wont rev past 4k

car is 95 gst. has a rvr/ evo 3 7 bolt. has 1g CAS. switched the firing order to 2-3-4-1{on coil pack left to right} so it would start. runs, idles perfect. turbo kicks in around 2.5k full boost around 4k. seems like a rev limiter, will not pass 4k. if car is in netural it will rev to 7k.mods are full 3inch exhaust,vrsf intercooler, 14b turbo, ngr bov,k&n air filter. any help will be appreciated thanks!

My guess is that it is running out of fuel. This can be from a dirty fuel filter or halfway out the door FP. Throw out some more details.

run a code check see what your computer is telling you, maybe it shows why its not letting it go over 4k.

Ran a code check just got a egr flow code. Going to order a egr block off now. Other than that I bought the car with 172k miles still running the same fuel pump. Was going to try boost leak, could that be it? Also buy a 255 to try that?

a bad boost leak will not let you go over 2k, but im not sure about a medium leak, also it could be your MAF is unplugged or loose, or even maybe just dirty

Make sure your maf is plugged in. Do a boost leak test. Other then that check fuel pressure and im sure your fuel filter could be changed. wouldnt hurt. let us know if you figure it out man

the engine should rev free'er when in neutral so it doesnt take as much pedal to get high rpms. but under load your pedal doesnt open the tps far enough to get more gas?

Do you have anything done to the ecu like a chip or anything? My speed sensor was going bad and when I was driving my ecu would think that the car was still sitting still and would only rev to my launch RPM point. Also a boost leak test wouldn't be a bad thing to do either.

I'm having the same issue, builds 5lbs of total boost then brick walls, all further accel is totally not happening, I'm going to clean my maf, I have yet to run a boost leak test, yet I'm about to hardpipe and reline the car as is. So if a boost leak is present I'll find it then.

Any other ideas, maybe Coil related, it's literally like a miss when I try to go into full boost

16G on a SAFC, Unrecirculated, FPR (no name, and I KNOW it's going), not checked on the fuel filter yet.

Check if you're getting spark on all cylinders, my Talon has the same problem (except it has a 6 bolt swap). Turns out that cylinders 1 & 4 are dead in mine, your problem is more than likely a bad CAS since you just switched over or it could be your ICM.

Ask the guy you got it from if he put a 4k Studder on it. It prevents the car from revving higher than 4k to preserve engine life and so you can't race it. If that's all that's wrong with it, you could just remove the rev. limiter.

Sounds like your running too rich. When ran too rich these cars will studder real bad once boost comes on.

I believe its a chip in the ecu which is behind the radio.

Ok I fixed all of my boost leaks, runs alot better but still having the problem
