so this just happend yesterday and i drove it a mile to my house put it in the garage. no warning signs before yesterday.... started up the car and it wouldn't rev past 2.5 maybe 3k, i figured i blew of a hose cause i was getting no boost. pulled into the garage and everything looked good but when i started it smoke came from the oil filter. shut car and looked at how much oil was there, and it was a qt. low OMG , i just changed it about 1k miles ago and i didn't notice any leeks since then. topped it off and no change. it sounded like valve clicking when idleing. just pulled off the oil filter and nothing seemed wrong, but it didn't seem like much oil. any help would be appreciated

btw 97gsx with 16g and supporting mods

oh yeah, threw a cel too. i'll change oil and get a cel reader, see what that does

okay, pulled the code p0100. mass or volume circut malfunction.

any ideas. i'll do some research 2night

sounds like i need a mass airflow sensor...200 bucks at checker anybody know of a place to buy cheap parts?

Is the mass airflow sensor on the 4g63 on the throttle body?

k thanks for the help guys

anybody ever have this problem or know where the mass airflow sensor is?

The mass air flow sensor is located before the turbo and its attached to the airbox. If your mass air flow sensor is bad, it might be a good idea to upgrade to a GM MAS. It wouldn't cost much more (Translator 200.00 + GM MAS 50-130.00 depending on where you get it) and the 3.5inch MAS from a 2000 and up Corvette flows twice as much as the almighty 2G MAS.

He will also need new UICP for the blow throught setup. The 2G mas is readily availible and usually cost around $50.
