So i installed a hellmans MBC, i looked on Vfaq for how to install it, the line that goes paralell with the adjustment knob goes to BOV line and the other one goes to wastegate...i've tried many different positions of the knob all the way in, all out, mid and all those gave me 9psi on the boost gauge. 1 thing that raised a ? was the BCS, do i just leave it connected and the tubes alone or can i disconnect it? will this throw a CEL if done. Any suggestions woudl be appreciated. Thanks

the tubes from the bcs will go into your mbc. leave the bcs there but put caps on the ends. your boost gauge will become useless and you will get a cel, but if you have an aftermarket boost gauge (i hope you do) you should be able to see what its boosting. hope i read that right and i helped :thumb: peace

also having the valve all the way out is going to be no/little boost. all the way in is going to be tons of boost. id reccomend starting out with it being out and slowly turn it in to get your desired boost you want

will not capping the bcs do anything...i have a aftermarket boost gauge that's how i'm reading the psi's, i did notice that all way out i was boost like 7-8psi and all way in i was boosting 9-9.5psi

I will tomorrow when i get the chance ..hopfully i can get time before 4 cause i gets dark fast around then...i'm pretty sure i connected it correctly

Here is how the MBC is connects

I see that the nipple on the turbo outlet has a hose connected to it, where did you run it to? That nipple should have been caped off if you decided to get the souce from t-ing off the BOV. Try running the pressure source from the turbo see if situation changes.

Where does that nipple lead too? coming from the outlet of the turbo

I think I know what you did. There used to be a tee between the wastgate actuator, turbo outlet and the bcs, I think you ran the mbc to the tee instead of directly to the actuator. You need to remove that tee and plug up the turbo outlet nipple.

You will not get a check engine light if you remove the boost control solenoid unless you have a 2g.

Get rid of it or make a boost controller out of it like I did.

i'm pretty sure but i'll check tomorrow but the line coming from teh wastegate actually comes from the wastegate...it runs between the two pipes and connects to the wastegate...if i get a change i'll look at it tomorrow and take more detailed pics

sorry for the crappy pic but this tee needs to go, i'm gonna run a single line from the wastegate to the MBC

It will fix your problem. You're basically bypassing your mbc and running at stock boost level of the wastgate actuator because your wastgate is connected directly to the turbo outlet nipple.
