Wiring in an AEM

I know the white wire on my uego goes I to pin 75 on the ecu to log on dsmlink. But what I need to know is do I cut the original wire and just run my uego to that wire or put the uego and original wire back to that wire? Thanks for the help!

Leave it severed!

RED wire to a 12v ignition power source
BLACK wire to a chassis ground
WHITE wire gets wired into ECU's pin #76 which is WHITE
****NOTE: When you wire it in you need to ENSURE you CUT the WHITE wiring going into pin 76 and connect the WB's WHITE wire to the ECU's connector side.****
BLUE wire is unused, zip-tie it off out of the way

I had already read that.... I just want to make sure I wasn't misreading and not supposed to just splice into the wire
