Wiring help

I am building a harness from pigtails and need a little help. I am wiring a 2g maf directly to a 1g ecu with a 2g maf pigtail.
On VFAQ, 2G MAF in a 1G TEL/GVR4 ,it lists the pinouts as:


Wire use according to the ECU wiring diagrams, 1G
1 - Idle position switch 5 - None
2 - Air flow sensor 6 - Ground for sensors
3 - MPI control relay 7 - Barometric pressure sensor
4 - 5V power supply for sensors 8 - Intake air temp sensor



Wire use according to the ECU wiring diagrams, 2G
1 - 5V power supply for sensors 5 - Ground for sensors
2 - Barometric pressure sensor 6 - Intake air temp sensor
3 - Air flow sensor 7 - Volume air flow sensor reset signal
4 - MPI control relay 8 - None

I understand how to wire all the connections that have exact matches. From what I can see it shows #1(idle position switch) on 1G gets connected to #7(volume air flow sensor reset signal) on the 2G . Is this correct? I want to make sure before I solder everything.

Well, hopefully someone will chime in on the first question. I have a second question about wiring as well. The knock sensor pigtail I have turns into a shielded cable a couple inches from the plug end. Anyone know where I can get a replacement cable or any suggestions on where to find something similar? Would something like RG6 be sufficient and would it handle under hood temps?

Yes you are correct pin #1 on the 1g plug gets wired to pin #7 on the 2g plug


Almost all the way down in this thread is a nice diagram/pic of what wires go where. It also tells what wire colors go together as well. I will be using this when I wire up mine in a few weeks

I am wiring the injectors using a NT injector harness and was wondering if I can just put a 6 Ohm resistor in line to the the MPI relay instead of using the resistor pack?

I just found the circuit diagram and it looks like I need a resistor for each injector.

This site has the diagram how to wire up the 1g n/t harness to the 2g but it doesn't mention anything about resistors. I don't know what to tell you about that I've only used the 1g turbo harness.

The only part of the NT harness I am using is the injector pigtails. The MPI schematic shows power coming from the MPI relay to a resistor pack. From the resistor pack to the injectors. And finally from the injector to the ecu pins 51,52,60,and 61. I looked at the resistor pack test procedure to determine that the resistor on each injector should be between 5.5 and 6.5 Ohms. I am going to search the junkyards again and see if I can find the resistor pack instead of trying to find resistors.

Sorry I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I read your post . I totally misunderstood you and thought you were still talking about the 2g maf wiring for some reason. I was wondering why the hell you were talking about injectors for

I probably could have made it clearer what I was asking.

I have one more pin out I have been unable to find a schematic for. On the power transistor(ignitor) :
#1 yellow black - OC2 connects to???
#2 yellow red - IB2 connects to ecu pin 55
#3 black - ground
#4 white - tach connects to ecu pin 109
#5 no connection
#6 Black white - Vb connects to MPI relay???
#7 yellow - IB1 connects to ecu pin 54
#8 yellow green - OC1 connects to ???

Can anyone confirm where 1,6, and 8 connect?
