windows, lights, radio, ect. stopped working

i just bought this 90 talon tsi. it needed an alternator so i put one in there along with a new battery for safe measure and all of a sudden nothing in my interior work. radio, dash lights, windows, a/c, nothing. need help trying to figure this one out. thanks guys

did you undo the battery before changing ALT. it sounds like to me you've popped a fuse or two

That should be one of the larger fuses under the hood box. I think its a 100A fuse (pretty sure) Its one of the fuses you need to remove bolts to get out. Main White power cables run into them.

I had this happen to me as well. same symptoms.

Yes its called the Ignition fuse, that sucker always loves to blow

If that big wire going to the alternator touches metal, it will blow the big 80a fuse under the hood! Happened to me while swapping in a new alternator!

+1 on the fuse as well. Change it out.

ahhh turns out its a short some where. idk where from but its causing all those things to come on and off when driving. even my headlights will shut off when im driving. pretty scary. any thoughts??
