I should have it here somewhere, don't know the brand, and they are in good
condition some minor curbs, on my wifes car, need i say more. i think offset
40 or 42, not sure fure sure but made for front wheel drive.

Based on what I see in your profile, you haven't made any changes to the suspension...yet. Therefore, you shouldn't have any problems with bottoming out...may it be with just yourself or with 4 people in the car. Once you lower your car, it'll depend on what suspension setup you choose as to whether or not you'll have that problem.

As long as we're on the subject...how often are you really going to have that many passengers in your car? You have noticed the, rediculously, small amount of leg space between the rear seats and the back of both front seats, haven't you???
IMO, one passenger riding shotgun is plenty. To each his own.

As for performance...a wheel is a wheel whichever was you slice it. You just have to make sure that you have all of your ducks in a row (i.e.offset, wheel/tire size and weight) before you purchase or mount them to your car. 225/40/18 sounds like a good combination. That's what I plan on running when I purchase my setup. They're going perform much better than stock. Think about how much bigger of a "foot print" an 18x8" wheel lays down as opposed the smaller stockers...get the drift? It's all pretty self-explanatory.

Like I've said before, man, you have to do a little searching. You have a viable and understandable question, but start with research first and then ask some questions here. You'll be surprised on how the questions you originally had will change into the questions that you really need to know answers to.

Now, again, I said in my last post that a wheel is just a wheel, either way you slice it. So, I'm trying to tell you that there are no specifically designed wheels for just one type of car(i.e. FWD, RWD, AWD). The suspension systems that are on each type of vehicle, along with the wheel characteristics and tire combination that you choose, will help you determine fitment.

In your case, as with most others, it's going to come down to wheel offset and bolt pattern. The first two links are a quick read, so check them out. The third is something that'll be good to put in your favorites folder:

In the past, I've ran into trouble by "taking someones word for it" and not having some type of proof to back up what they "said (i.e. paperwork/receipts of their prduct that's for sale)." I would say that if the guy doesn't live too far away from you, take what you've read up on, and use it to rule out for yourself whether or not they are the right offset and bolt pattern for you. Meet up with the guy and measure the wheels. If that's not possible, I personally wouldn't spend my money on them if I'm still questioning whether or not they'll be what I need. In that case, I would keep searching until I find something more concrete.
