Will these tires work?

I wanted to know if i could use two different sets of tires.I have 205/50/17 in the front and 215/45/17 in the back will these make a huge difference and mess my drivetrain up. I have awd so this is why im asking. thanks

ps. why would you put the wider tires on the rear of an understeering pig? or are you counting on the 1.8% difference biasing torque to the rear? (the latter actually makes some sense.)
