from my 7bolt motor fit right on a 6bolt motor. Or are there modifications. Also for anybody in Cali. what do you have to do to smog a 6bolt. Its my understanding that you have to swap the same year or newer engine in your car to pass. My car is a 96 gst.

Yeah the tranny shoudl just bolt up. You will need to put the 2g stater plate on with the 6 bolt motor.

As far as smog unless they can tell the difference between a 6 and 7 bolt you will be fine. Yes technically you are breaking the law, however they have to find out how. The two motors look identical so you shouldnt have a problem.
