will my custom DP pass emissions?

I modded my apexi downpipe and welded in a 3" magnaflow cat. Its a 3 way cat with regular ceramic honeycomb. I didnt realize until today that the box says "pre obd2" which means its not a heavy metal type of cat (my cars a 97) ... will that make a difference and make me fail the sniffer test? I have an evo8 ecu so I disabled the rear o2 so there is no CEL, just want to know if the sniffer will fail me. Thanks guys!

Depends on the state and how picky your shop is if it will pass or not.
Advertise here to find someone local who is local to you and DSM friendly.
As far as sniffer test, run your tank down low, throw a couple gallons of e85 in and let them test it. Stay off the boost until you can get some real gas in it.

But if you find someone local talk to them first about the sniffer test.

Welp, just got back from the station, I passed! I think the 2way/3way factor was more impt than the heavy metal... the HM cats are for 96+ cars, but our engines have been pretty much the same since 90, so I figured theyd all put out the same emissions.. so if a 95 7 bolt can pass a 97 should be able to with the same exhaust setup.
