Will a Big Brake Kit fit with my stock gsx rims?

I drive a 1990 GSX with some mods. I am wondering if a big brake kit will work with my stock gsx rims in terms of clearance. I hate the feeling of taking forever to slow down, I've done LOTS of brake work but never anything with big brake kits. Also if they wont fit does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of rims i could/should get? preferably light rims and in the 17" range. Thanks for your input

Did you buy this kit new? If so, it would most likely tell you what the minimum size wheels you could run in the instructions. Most of the kit's that I have seen require you run a minimum of 17" wheels. If you don't have the instructions, but you know which kit it is, you could alway's google it. Hope this help's.

You should be able to shove some GSX 17's above them... but if not, there might be some small trimming required, best way to do it would be to use a tire rotating machine and sand down the inside of the wheel... of just do it by hand, thats it....

Depends on which 'big brake' kit you're talking about. If you mean the 2-pot '92-94 GSX swap, they should fit in stock 1Ga GSX rims. The Baer 4-pot kit needs at least a 17", and has their information listed on most of the sites that sell the kit.
