Will a 98 420a ECU work right with a 97 420a motor?

i need a new ecu for my motor and was wondering if a 98 would fit my 97. Theres a 98 eclipse in the junkyard and all the numbers matched mine except for the last number. On the 98 the last number is a 4 and on mine its an 8.

I am pretty sure the only swappable ECU's are the 98 and 99's rest of the years are different. I have a 97 ecu I can sell you, but its ATX

I am 90% sure that 98 and 99 are interchangeable, but 97, 95 are different cant remember about 96, having trouble searching for information for some reason. Granted you could make it work if you want to swap out the wiring harness.
