will a 89 mirage 1.6 turbo tranny fit 1g fwd?

my tranny broke and i;m having a hard time finding a new one. so my buddy has a tranny sitting in his garage and its out of a 89 mirage 1.6 turbo he'll sell me. will it work?

It will probably bolt up but will not last long on a 2.0 turbo engine.

yes it is a direct bolt in, the only weak link to the 1.6 tranny is the carrier bearing inside the tranny is thinner than the 2.0 turbo trannies so they wear sooner. Another note is that the 1.6 tranny has way shorter gears, but other than that you will be fine.

Hey since you live in Windsor I know a junkyard in Lake County with 2 1g fwd trannys. PM me for info. Not sure on how much they want for them.
