I searched first but couldn't find an answer. I want to know if a 6 bolt turbo transmission will bolt up to a 1994 2L n/t 7 bolt engine. I have read that there is a difference between the turbo and n/t flywheels. Is there also a difference between 6 bolt and 7 bolt flywheels? Will the 6 bolt clutch work?

The trans will bolt up and work as long as it is a front wheel drive trans. The speedo might be off though because the gear ratios are different between the turbo and non-turbo trans. The clutch will bolt up. The flywheels are different. The 6 bolt has 6 bolts in the flywheel holding it onto the crank. The 7 bolt has 7 bolts holding the flywheel onto the crank.

THREAD JACK.. haha
ok I have a 90 talon turbo FWD, and found out I have a non turbo trans and flywheel.
But I just got my 6 puck clutch that wont bolt up to the non turbo flywheel.
can I just put on a turbo flywheel, and use the n/a trans?

No, you will need a turbo tranny to use a turbo clutch and flywheel. Also you will need to get a new dowel for the crank, n/t flywheels don't use them, turbo stuff does.

Don't forget people, when using a turbo transmission in your n/t you HAVE to switch the starter plate. It sucks when you go to bolt up the starter and you realize you have to pull the flywheel back off to switch plates.

I'v got what was a TSI (awd) but some anus put a n/a trans clutch anf flywheel in there.
I would love to make it AWD again, but I don't think i'll have enough cash..
I will probably go with a FWD trans just because I can afford that.
OH and I realized all this when my new 6 puck didn't fit..

This terminology of 6-bolt or 7-bolt only refers to the 4G63. If you are curious about your car, the '95 N/T listed in your profile, it is neither of these.

In regards to the 4G63 engine, the non-turbo engine comes in both varieties, 6-bolt and 7-bolt.
