will 1g gears swap into a 2g tranny?

i have a 95 gst and the transmission is shot. i have a 1g gst also and i don't have the money for a tranny rebuild right now. i have the 1g tranny that's still in good condition. was wondering if the gears are able to be swapped from the 1g and into a 2g end case. would like to get the 95 gst on the road asap.

I think so, I've read taht it was done. Just make sure you pay attention to detail I guess there are some minor differences.
