Ok, tonight i fired up the engine up for the first time. i got massive lifter tick, freaked me out at first. but then the lifter tick went away. but from the bottom end i hear a swirling noise, not a knock. when i rev it past 2k the noise seems to go away, but when the oil pressure drops back down the noise comes back. tomorrow im going to change the oil and filter and see if that will help stop the noise and raise the pressure. im not shure what it is and its freaking me out. the car runs great but i think the oil pressure is low and that is what is causeing the noise. what do you guys think?

Taking your car is stock (no vehicle profile info), you said you heard swirling sounds from the bottom end. I would check the balance shaft belt and make sure its still intact. Does the motor vibrate at high rpms?

The car does not vibrate at high rpm's. and yes the car is stock. once the oil pressure builds, the sound goes away. when i rev it to 3k and hold it, there is no sound. then when i let off the sound slowly builds up. i put lucas in it, but i dont think i used enough. and i have no CEL and the oil light is not on either. i dont know what it is and its getting on my nerves.

Will do. Im changing the oil and filter tomorrow as well as putting half a bottle of lucas in it and hopefully it will help. if not, im gonna make a trip to kragen and buying a oil pan gasket and pulling the pan. Hopefully its not something big and is an easy fix.

Ok changed the oil, put a lot of lucas in, still making the same noise. i decided to pinpoint the noise and it wasn't where i thought it was. the noise is on the flywheel side and right by the turbo line into the oilpan. i dont know what it is and i am really angy now. and now im hearing a rattling noise near the tranny. any help is much appreciated.

Good news. The noise is just the thin shield that goes between the transmission and the block. i jacked it up on jact stands and decided to push on it. then low and behold, the noise went away. what a relief. thanks for all your help. :p

Good to hear. The shield is your flywheel inspection plate. Make sure its secure and if its missing any bolts, replace them.

it was missing a bolt, put it back on. had to bend it a little bit to make it stop making the noise. but the is a rattle near the tranny still though. sounds like a loose nut or bolt or something like that. its not loud though. other than than, car runs great and is fast. now i just gotta break it in and smog it. thanks for the help. :thumb:
