widest 16in. tire to fit under a 2g?

I am considering switching back to my stock 16 inch wheels and I would like to know what the widest sized tires are that will fit under my car without rubbing. I have searched and came up with no straight answer. will a 245 fit? Thanks for any help.

245's won't fit, the rims are only 6" wide

okay. say i had an 8 inch wide wheel with the stock back spacing. would a 245 or larger fit under the car without rubbing??

Nope. A 245/45/16 wants an offset down around 40 or less, depending on the tire.
