Ok so i am trying to get my car on speed density and i kinda did all this at once such as installed my wideband my iat map and trying to learn to tyne all on my own ive never done this before and now my car wont start im thinking maybe my wideband being in my front o2 is the problem i still have the narrowband hooked up but the wideband is whats actully installed its the ngk afx wideband and i put my 0-1v wire to the ecupin for oxygen sensor along with the 0-5v and now how exactly do i set up to simulate i checked the box in link and set my pinout to front o2 as the afx sensor and i changed the change point i think it says to the 4.08 listed in the ecmlink wiki is that all i have to do or is it possible because the stock o2 is still wired to the harness?

Please help
 
I am having similar issues with my wideband LC-2 and LINK. I followed all the directions, I thought very thorough but might have missed something. I'm not sure my ECU is reading my LC-2. It has 2 outputs, 1 that is 1-5 volts and 1 that is .01-1 (I think). I connected my 1-5 volt wire to the ECU O2 sensor pin but the .1-1 volt wire is left and I don't know what to do with it or how to get the dang gauge to read, as it currently is flashing 7.4 like it doesn't see any signal at all and I have it wired to the low voltage wire just to see if it would change. The LC-2 instructions say I need to tell it to have both outputs be 1-5 volts but I am having trouble with the programming or can't find the place to tell it to do that. Is there any way to check to see if it is doing anything? Anybody else using the new LC-2 please chime in and THANKS!!!

The 0-1v is for simulation of stock o2 sensor
 
So do you think I have it wired backwards then? Attach the low volt wire to the factory O2 pin? That would leave the 1-5 volt wire for my gauge which would, I think, solve the whole problem. I know the guage wants to have the 1-5 volt feed to it. If you have solved my problem so simply, then I sure owe you a big favor (I'm kinda new to these fun little monsters). :thumb:

If you have your wideband going where your front o2 was the low volt will go to the o2 pin on ecu i know that but what im unsure is if i have to put my high volt wire elsewhere or can that also just go to the o2 pin on ecu

Also if i have to disconnect the factory o2 sensor ### its hardwired in i was just gonna zip tie it off to the side for now because i eventully want to do real narrowband as well as the wideband

The 0-5v sensor is used to connect to the ecu. Then in link you place a switch point for your correct wideband. This enables your car to think it is a 02 sensor, while in turn you can log afr with it. THAT is it.

Hence:
With ECMLink's narrowband simulation function, you can simply run the 0-5v output to the ECU and then configure the ECU to produce the 0-1v simulation internally, thus freeing up an additional input on the ECU for some other aftermarket sensor.

So i dont need the 0-1v wire attached i just simply setup according to the wiki page for my afx the 4.08 switch point and then just have the simulate box checked
 
From our conversation, and my perspective which is still pretty green on these, the higher volt wire should feed your wideband GAUGE and the low volt wire should feed the ECU. That is probably what is wrong with mine right now since i have the wires separated with the hi going to the ecu (I will change that ASAP) and then that leaves me the right voltage to feed my gauge so it will stop ******* blinking 7.4 at me. Mine is a Innovate.
 
The 0-1v wire IS NOT USED. Only the power, ground and 5v signal. From there get your pin assignments correct, check the box, put in the switch point, define what you want to capture, load it into your displayed values and verify it works. Have you even watched the demos on ecmlinks website?

Nonetheless, if its not even wanting to start its not the wideband. Your car starts in open loop.I think your getting ahead of yourself and you should slow down before you fry your ECU. Hooking up a wideband is very basic, if you cannot do this, you should not continue.
 
Well scratch that.....Thank you livedsm4g63 for the info. I am not sure how to configure this new LC-2 to run both the ecu input and the wideband gauge and I have been hunting a solution for it. Do you know how I can tell if the sensor is even sending a signal at all to my ecu? I am new with both the LC-2 and the DSMLink V3. I have read and watched tutorials, but am having some problems.

Now how to get the guage that came in the kit to read since it isn't telling me anything because it is hooked up to the .1-1 volt wire. I am going to try to program the LC-2 output #2 to 1-5 volts tonight after work if its not too cold out. Any more tips are always appreciated. I am computer and electrical savy but new to DSM's. I will update as I get to that. Again....Thanks!!!

Feather the gas, I never had a problem along with many others in MI.

12v power wire to 12v source, ground the ground to anything that is metal and run the 5v output to the ecu. Yes you also need to change the second output. Change both to 0-5v and youll be set.

You need to disconnect your narrowband sensor completely if you are running sim. Remove it from the car. Start there. Then, run the 0-5V wire into the ECU. Tell link where it is connected, and set up simulation. This would probably be easier if you post a log of your settings too.

You have it exactly right. You need to use the Innovate software to set both outputs to be 0-5V. Then, one goes to the ECU, one goes to the gauge.
