My buddy just got his Autometer Wideband O2 gauge installed, and its really confusing the heck out of me. He drives a 2002 Subaru WRX with NUMEROUS mod's and he has been tuned by Top Speed Tuning in Georgia. But onto the problem...

After the installation, he is said to idle at 14.5. During acceleration, the gauge reads roughly 13, but states it to be LEANER. When he lets off the gas, it reads around 16, supposedly more RICH. Is there something, like a feature, on the gauge that needs to be set for something else? Or does anyone have any suggestions? Also, it states that at his baseline of 14.5, he is stoich...but that sounds a little lean IMO. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Capt. Obvious...LOL...j/k... This is why I am so confused. It has a digital readout along with the Rich/Stoich/Lean meter...the higher the number should be leaner...but its reading it more rich...which is why I am lost. Thanks tho!

He cant find the owners manual...which is why im trying to find out if anyone on here might have an answer. We are hoping it may be something besides being broke, as it was JUST installed 3 days ago. Any other insite would be great!

Autometers are adjustable for different fuels. Are you sure you have it set up for gasoline?
There is also a peak button correct? maybe it is locking in the number while the outside is still reading what the car is doing.

I thought a dsm is stoich at 14.5 during cruise and idle not sure about subbys though.

I'll make sure its set for gas...its just confusing the heck out of me.
