Im going to be getting dsmlink soon. I've also been looking at widebands. I searched past threads and from what I understand. I dont need a wideband with a logger because the dsmlink can tune, correct. So, I should just be able to get the sensor and gauge right? If I'm wrong about this could someone let me know. Thanks.
 
You will just need a sensor and the box that comes with it (for example, the Innovate LC-1 unit). Then you can wire that into your ECU and have DSMlink log the output. You don't have to get a gauge, but it's nice so that you can view your A/F ratio at any time.

I see. I have one of the a/f gauge with out the digital readout. Just the bounceing lights. Are those really that accurate, because if any I'll wait and get the gauge later and use the one I have for now. How is the (Innovate LC-1 unit). Do you recomend?
 
An a/f gauge (narrowband) is useless. If you're getting DSMlink, spend the money and get a wideband as that will be one of your main tuning components. Without it, you won't be able to tune.

The Innovate LC-1 is a great unit. It is a little harder to install (wiring wise) than others, but nothing too bad. I have it coupled with the XD-16 gauge as well as logging it in DSMlink. The gauge and the value in DSMlink both read very accurately. It is a little bit harder to set up for DSMlink because you have to use some of the Innovate software to reprogram how it outputs. But there is a how-to in the DSMlink forums to show you exactly what to do, as well as an article on these forums on how to install it wiring wise so you won't be going at it blindly. I would highly recommend it. One of the main reasons I got it is because it ranked at the top of a wideband shootout that was performed a while ago.

But it is one of the more expensive ones ($200 for just the box and the o2 sensor, whereas you can get an AEM UEGO setup for a bit more) so shop around, do some research, and find the one that best suits your needs, wants, and budget.
 
I have a LC-1 wired into DSMLink. It works great.

And a wideband A/F is not the same as a Narrowband A/F they are completely different animals. The NarrowBand can only effectively show lean/rich transitions (0-1V). The wideband can show gradients of A/F ratios (0-5V).
 
I am rockin the old school inovative LM-1. I have had this thing for over 5 years and it is still on the same sensor. I would not recomend the lm-1 to someone who is about to purchase a new one unless you like taking up your whole glovebox but in my situation I have had mine since before the lc-1 was out.
