wide band install

I installed an aem wide band yesterday and am having trouble with the power source .i gave it power by using the add a fuse conector works great but when i turn on my headlights the gauge goes black what could it be.

What area of your fuze box did you tie it into? Your looking for something that is a constant 12v powersource when key is turned on. Not sure if this is a good idea but im sure someone will chime in if im wrong but couldnt you just splice into your cigarette lighter power wire thats what im gunna do, however mines removed from the car so that will be my WB primary power.

i tryed that but i allready have my boost gauge hooked up there and the wide band wouldnt turn on. also the fuse i taped in to is for the wipers.

there are many power sources in the fuse box that get 12v constant with the in on position. use a test light to find it.

i Ran a few guages off the cig lighter. No apparent problems yet.

Did you wire in the auto dimmer on the guage or something? There should be a constant/switched/and headlight-on. If the 12v headlight-on is wired in it will auto dim the guage. Maybe its dimming it too much?? i dont really know. Im familiar with innovative but assume they run similiarly. Try disconnecting the headlight-on wire and just have the 12v ign-on(cig lighter) power source hooked up. See if that helps.

i Ran a few guages off the cig lighter. No apparent problems yet.

I did same with my aem uego wideband and it works fine. You can hook the 0-5v wire to the ecu at same time if you are using ecmlink

hook it up to the same wire that your turbo time is hooked up to, i think it's green one, thats where i put mine to

i found the problem bad ground works great.
