OK, i finally gathered the cash to get my exhaust system. the Espelir JGT500R for my 99 GSX. Only come to find out that after hours of searching online stores and ebay(yea i know :notgood: ), no place has it in stock! Can anyone point me to a shop that has the exhaust system in stock for a 99 GSX? :dsm:

is there any difference between the GST and GSX exhaust setup wise? if not, ill go ahead and buy the GST system

there are hundreds of vendors. JUST SEARCH! better yet go to a muffler shop and get a 3 inch maderal bent exhaust system for half the cost.

DONT BUY THE GST EXHAUST!! get the gsx i dont know where to get it but you will waste a lot of time and money if you get the gst exhaust.

Just pull of your cat...drive the car around the corner to the local muffler shop and get them to bend you some and put it on. My buddy got the local muffler man around here to do a full 3inch from the turbo back for $200. And it's as nice as the thermal r&d i have on my 1g. I was pissed cause i paid like $800.

What is so badass about this Espelir JGT500R?

#1 its a complete stainless steel system, unlike its Apexi N1 counterpart
#2 it outflows and sound better than the N1 (which was my first choice, until i stumbled upon this) :p

i've never even heard of this exhaust

I haven't heard of that setup either...

the APEXi GT exhaust is the same thing as the N1, but all Stainless. You should look for that.

AWD exhaust has far less bends and runs straight down the car.

My exhaust including an EVOIII O2 housing, Ported... $1100. That's the RRE downpipe, Cat, test pipe for track, and 3" Buschur catback. All stainless. To be honest, I wish I would have gone to a local shop, got 3" Stainless mandrel bands built for a 1/3 or at most 1/2 the cost.

the APEXI GT costs a lot more than the Espelir system. The main reason its not widely known is because it was a system widely used on the JGTC circuit and started becoming available to the public last last year. The GST model exhaust is out already, i found out today that the GSX model will be available June 26th. thanks for all the input guys! :dsm:

my buschur 3" is on the way to replace my 2.5" buschur.. how's it sound? good?

Where do u get the info that this thing flows more?

www.roadracengineering.com plus a few other sites , when i emailed Mackin Industries and asked if by chance they had a performance comparison of the system to any competitors, i got a chart back showing the espelir system versus the N1 on a 98 GST, needless to say, the espelir system created less BP than the N1, plus its stainless and cheap! (for the usual price of stainless systems)

you could try the setup I have....

Megan racing 3" SS downpipe

connect to it a Bosal catback also 3" and SS..

it also has a 3 stage polish on the entire thing... cost me 450$ total.. :)

the thing sounds great, quieter than an n1, and flows like a dream. My evoIII 16g creeps to 26+ psi. Even after I ported the inlet. (also have a 2.5" tubular o2 housing on it (the wasetgate dump on the o2 is roughly 1.5"....

im just gonna wait until the exhaust hits stateside the 25th, $500 for a complete stainless system is pretty good. ive already placed my order with Mackin, ill post a detailed review and pics when i get it :thumb:

Yeah i think it sounds pretty good.. Loud, and pretty unique.. the only thing i don't like is the muffler set up.. i guess i'd rather have a can style like the HKS or Apex.. i dunno i like looking @ the exhaust @ an angle.. i think it's cool..

To me, a 3inch exhaust is a 3 inch exhaust. If you can drop a golfball in the downpipe and have it roll out the tailpipe it will flow just fine. I bought an RnR turboback for 500 and am extremely pleased. Your not gonna get a noticable increase with this Epsilir system over an N1 or Thermal IMO.

exactly, so have a muffler shop do it for half the price, rather 500 for some brand name one. most shops i know use stainless steel anyways, and have mandrel benders.

You could always build your own system. I took a blitz system from a wrx we owned and cut it up to fit the talon. Full 3" system pretty easy to do an exhaust for these cars. Im sure any local muffler shop can build a 3" system for far less then the N1 and be nice as well. I know lots of guys want stainles etc.. but unless you live somewhere like here in canada where they use salt then the stainless is really never going to be all that necessary other then looks. If it were me I would look for a local guy to build one for a couple 100 bucks around local. Do remember though if performance is the utmost importance most shops don't have a mandrel bender and you will have a bit more restriction in the bends then without the mandrel.

Good luck

or you could do like me and have a 3" downpipe w an electronic exhaust cut-out, that way if need be you can retain the quiet nice stock sound, or open her up to a zero back pressure turbo monster, or anywhere inbetween for that matter

www.quicktimeperformance.com look at the QTEC and Y-pipes

and its WAAAYYY cheaper too

if the shop doesnt have a mandrel bender dont even bother

Straight from RRE
Espelir 85mm SS exhaust

The Espelir system have a full 85mm full stainless steel piping from cat back. Muffler is "N-1" style and comes with silencer. Design to bolts up to your factory cat or remove the adapter and use one of our downpipes. Comes with what you see to the right.

Note: This is one of the loudest exhaust on the market. Not recommended where smog and noise police run rampant. This system will outflow the old and outdated Apex'i N-1
