Why do ACT2600 clutch's rattle (chatter) even when new?

When I installed a new style (4 springs) ACT2600 clutch w/street disc. I noticed it chatters (rattles) ONLY when slowing down in 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear. I was always under the impression that only accurs on old style discs (6 springs) as the springs become loose from the disc and begin to move around.

I noticed my new ACT made the noise the first day I drove it out. I thought the springs are supposed to quite clutch chatter. Why do new (sprung) clutch's sometimes make noise?

I'v heard of quite a few people having this problem but it seems to go away once the clutch is fully broke in.

Is the noise you're hearing the clutch rattling or are you hearing resonance in the drivetrain?

You have a lightened aluminum flywheel, which makes this more pronounced. Read through this thread and see if this isn't your issue.

I have the same noise at low rpms and in lower gears. I have the 2600 w/street disk and Act flywheel.
