Who's using a GM MAF sensor with alcohol or water injection?

Since there was apparently only one thread ever created about this combination (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=167253&highlight=GM*+MAF), I'd like to poll the audience to see who is successfully (or unsuccessfully) using a GM MAF sensor with some type of WI after the sensor. I already have the WI installed 2-3" before the throttle body, and the GM MAF will be about 6-8" before that. My system uses a progressive controller, which may or may not be relevant. I understand that water will wreak havoc on a MAF sensor, so I'm curious if anyone has any reports of residual spray during blow-off adversely affecting their sensor. Any thoughts are also welcome.

You should change to a draw-thru setup if you want to eliminate any chances of moisture getting on the sensor.

Mondo,

Thanks for the advice. I understand that a draw-through setup would prevent any potential problems, but the reason I'm running a GM MAF in the first place is to permit venting the BOV. My short route IC piping has the BOV discharging directly beneath the return stub on the intake pipe, making it impossible to recirculate the valve without kinking the return line and causing a noticeable lag between shifts.

I use water injection with GM MAF. Both very close together near the throttle body. I wouldn't exactly say that moisture will "wreak havoc" with the MAF sensor. You wouldn't want to place the water injection in front of the sensor but a momentary bit of humidity should should not affect it, especially considering the throttle is closed at that point.

Great, thanks for the feedback, Ron. The reason I ask is that when I pull my IC piping, I notice blue residue from the washer fluid as far down as the BOV. I just want to make sure that whatever will make it back through the sensor isn't enough to cause any problems.

Switch to distilled water / alcohol it's better as it does not leave residue. You defininately don't want it building up on the hot wire.
