All this talked about accelerated bearing wear from a low wheel offset of less than 39mm or so offset......Who has actually experienced this phenomenon of accelerated bearing wear?

The wear isn't so much a concern as sudden failure is. We might get a couple of lost wheel calls a year.

From what? The lug nuts flying off? It's not from offset with wheels flying off, let's put it that way.

Yea, if your wheel bearing were suddenly to seperate, your brake caliper would catch it. Trust me, I've had it happen. The steering suddenly went out so I pulled over and jacked up the driver's side and had about an inch and a half of play. I took the rim off and just as I unbolted the brake caliper, the rotor and half the bearing assembly just fell down spilling all the little bearings everywhere.

blackGSX2g, how do you account for the wheel bearing assembly breaking apart the way it did??? What was your offset at the time, and what caused this failure?

Beats me. It's hard to see through the wires with those little holes in the phone. "Lost" doesn't imply "flying off", or at least it wasn't supposed to.
That's maybe two calls a year, out of three counties, out of a thousand 911 calls a day. It's not common, but it happens. Finding out "why" is pretty much impossible, as you can count on a person losing a wheel from a car probably isn't very clued-in to the car in the first place.
