hey guys

Chceck otu that talon again...seller is a SUPER ####ING DOUCHEBAG. Wow, never met a bigger asshole in my life...but

he said its blowing white smoke becausse the turbo is "sucking oil" when a turbo "sucks" oil, is it white smoke from the exhaust?

thnks

mike

ps: 91 TSI AWD..for 2.5K with an average body..average interior..balh blah blah

White smoke is burning coolant. Coolant wouldn't burn in the turbo, its probably the headgasket. Run a quick compression test on it to check. If he says the turbo is sucking oil, check it for shaft play. When the turbo burns oil, it spits out blue smoke that has the telltale rancid smell of burning oil.

Thats what I freakin thought...

No wonder he refused to let me do a compression test.

Oh well, it will be a hell of a time getting my deposit back

mike

Blue-ish white (mostly blue) is when the turbo is suckin oil if i recall (its been a while since my turbo tweaked on me)

hehehe - but its enough smoke to smoke out a cornfield, i remember that- BWAHAAHAH

I wouldn't even consider a car without doing a compression test...Especially if he refused to let you do that. Thats just stupid...you can't sell a car and be an ass about it. I'd walk away from that one for sure.

Ruh roh.... My car is in the process of getting a new motor ready, and the 7bolt in her now blows T O N S of white smoke. It's almost pure white with a lil blue tinge, but REAKS of oil. I mean it smells like PURE oil! The turbo has 147,XXX miles on her so I'm pretty sure that's the problem. Normally I wouldn't give a crap since I don't even drive her in the winter, and the new motor should be done soon but it's kinda peaking my interest.

The car ONLY smokes at idle. When driven it's fine, but when oil pressure goes down (for example when I come to a light) sure enough the smoke-screen hits, and let me tell you it IS crazy! Any ideas?
