Has anyone ever done white paint on things such as their icps, intake, valve cover or stuff like that.

Not to sound toooooo negative but white in an engine bay??? :thumbdown
Do you ever plan on driving the car? and how much time do you plan on devoting to cleaning? You gotta ask yourself that. I would stay away from it if it's your daily, but if it's a trailer queen, go for it.

Just from experiance, I have a PVC intake(white) and it doesnt stay clean at all, it will be getting painted black soon. Also, if you are working on your car, you will get it all dirty trying to pull it out or put it back in. Also, for reference, look at the peices that are already white, like the brake fluid cover or the wiper fluid cover. Not all that white.

I wanted to do white too, i think it would look good but I opted to just go black b/c of the cleanliness issue.

Even if you keep it clean I am willing to bet that the heat will yellow the white paint over time. Probably not a good idea. And, if you don't clear-coat as well as paint the part, it will stain permanently.

On my last car I painted my valve cover white, I thought it looked really really good and it stayed clean for the three months I had it on there. Then my friend decided to overtighten the valve cover botls spraying oil all over the engine bay/valve cover giving me a nice off white/yellow color going on that looked horrible. Now I have neon pink...no im not joking.

It not all that hard to keep clean. I have it and I just wipe it down with some hot water and simple clean after every oil change....gotta do something while I wait for the oil to drain. After almost 2 years I am very happy with it. Still looks good. Just besure to wipe the underneath of your hood first or it will drip onto everything else. I just keep forgetting to do it first. OMG

well tell us, what paint did you use? How did you go about it. Because if its simple upkeep, i think white is a good color for under your hood, i cant stand reds and yellows and all that shit.

I forgot the exact temps but there are two temp ratings for engine paint. I used the higher rating for the white color. I sprayed 4 coats on and then let it dry, I then sanded the letters to be polished and then sprayed 3 coats of clear. The clear only comes in the lower temp rating but it still held up fine.
