I'm looking to replace the stock intake tube from the stock MAS to the turbo and I'm a little confused on what all I need.

I've been eyeing this one: DEJON | Powerhouse but if there is a better one out there or the if someone knows the best place to purchase this one let me know.

FYI.. I have the stock T25 turbo and an HKS SSQV BOV

Thanks!

Thanks for the link... I already have a K&N cone filter so all I need is the tube... Is this still worth it just to buy the tube? Will it install with my setup fine? i don't see it asking about sizes. I don't see the BOV tube.

Here's a pic of mine.

The kit comes with the adapter plate needed to use the cone filter. It has the recirc tube and two nipples for the the valve cover vent and the charcoal canister. It's for a stock turbo and besides when you go bigger you get a reducer coupler to match intake to turbo inlet.

To answer your question, $40 compared to $120 :aha:

Thanks thats what I needed to know. So if this will work for what I've got and increase airflow at the same time I'll get it.

Thanks!

I just got that intake that was mentioned above. Its worked out good so far, I didn't use the filter that came with it, I just used my Injen filter. Its a pretty tight fit but everything works, and for the price it's a great deal.

Awesome! Great to hear some real feedback from a few people that actually own it! I feel a little better about making the purchase thanks guys. Just checked out your pics Alex, looks good! did you change your turbo is that why you don't have it any more? Did anyone actually notice a difference after replacing their stock intake tubes?

The sound of the turbo spooling up will be louder. That's the main difference you'll notice. Replacing the stock intake box with an open element filter makes the biggest difference at the stage your at, but the pipe will flow a little better as well.

I have no problems recommending the pipe for those with stock size turbos. It has a 2.5" end.

The filter is starting to see better days though. It's getting pretty dirty and beat up. I'll eventually get a K&N filter at some point.

I'll be pulling it off my car before too long. I no longer use the stock MAS, so I need just a 3" round end for a filter now. I'll snap some updated photos and post those in the review.

Update on this...

Well I went ahead and purchased the eBay chrome intake. I installed it today and noticed a fitment issue. The metal support bracket that held the MAF wont fit now with this new intake. It's like the intake is longer, and now the MAF rests on top of the bracket as seen in these pictures. Is this the same issue everyone had?

I never had a bracket like that. I just put the filter and adapter on.

Oh so thats not a stock part? Maybe the previous owner installed it?

Is there some other type of bracket? It seems that the Intake would sag and fall if something wasn't there holding it up.

Well I guess it won't hurt anything to let the MAF rest on top of the bracket like I have it showing in the pictures. Just got a little frustrated when trying to install it and couldn't get everything lined back up how it was.

Should have got the FP 4" intake, one of the best purchases I made for my GSX. Helped spool A LOT, gained throttle response and my 18g sounds like a 35r when it spools Lol.

Is this the one your are referring to? Forced Performance Turbochargers: FP DSM Aluminum Intake pipe

I didn't even know anything about that one. I purchased this one because of how cheap it was. I may upgrade to that one later after the turbo upgrade.

The bracket you have is not stock as said before. Just let the pipe sag down or put some cardboard in there to support it up.

The FP intake is nice for the price but don't get it until you go to a larger turbo and decide that you won't be running speed density or using a GM MAF in blow through mode :thumb:

Those chrome intake is nice and affordable. I want one. I have t25 and planning on getting evo 3 16g later. Can I still used the intake? I dont want to buy a new intake. Thanks
