Resolved Which primer for engine bay

My bay is almost fully prepped for primer. There was some rust on the frame rail from what looks like battery leaking at one point so that part is bare metal. What primer would you recommend? I was thinking epoxy or self etching, but can’t seem to find epoxy primer from a quick search.

From every thing I have read or heard epoxy primer is the best for bare metal...

+1 on the epoxy primer sand with 80 grit so it’ll stick better

Yes, basically just bare metal. You don't really sand epoxy primer (it's REALLY hard), once the epoxy is on the bare metal and dried, then you put regular primer over that, sand that primer, then paint.

epoxy primers can go over paint and body filler so you can spray the whole engine bay and yea can’t sand it so do the body work before
