^^^I was going to follow that article and replace my inner tie rods cause but I can't figure out which parts I need.^^^

Which part in this pic is the washer that's refered to in the article that needs to be bent over the flat spot on the inner tie rod? :

Here's a legend:
9 = Gear assembly washer $5.30
10 = Gear assembly bushing $39.17
11 = Gear assembly stopper $6.24
12 = Gear assembly clip
13 = Rack $87.64
14 = Rack washer $5.06
15 = Inner tie rod $50.91
20 = Boot $27.25
21 = Boot clamp $5.77

So to do the whole job I'll need 2 of #15, 2 of the boots (#20), and the washers. Is that everything? I was planning on using a hose clamp or zip ties to keep the boots on, and I've already done the outer tie rod ends so I don't need anything else for that.

When would a person need to replace numbers 9 thru 12? I don't understand the pic, are those inside of number 8? or do they go around #15 and it sticks out from #8?

14, 20, 21, get the proper clamp, they are designed to take the load of steering, zip ties and hose clamps will not last very long and possibly tear the boot. ive redone customer cars with that exact problem. torn boot from a home made clamp.

someone else will have to confirm. im not sure if you need the washers and bushings .

usually when you get the inner tie rod it should come with all the parts that you need. at least the oem ones do

When I bought mine from JNZtuning, it did not come with all of those small parts. I had to buy 2 each of the locking washers (that has the tabs that you will need to bend over and lock the piece in) 2 boots and 2 each of the clamps (both large Nd small). To the OP, the only time that you will replace those other parts, is if you were to rebuild the steering rack. They are inside #8. Hope that. Helps. There is also a special socket to remove the old ones and install the new ones, it might be rentable, or borrow able from one of the bigger parts shops. I just bring that up, because use of it makes the install truly a snap.

I just replaced mine, I bought moog tie rods and they came with everything I needed. I also bought new boots which I recommend changing. They are only like 5 bucks from rockauto
