Basically, which kit is easiest to install. the NOS kits have like 200 parts to them, and Zex kits have nothing, and NX has a mixture of both. This will be for a 55 dry shot, what brand is easiest to install? thanks

ive had all 3, and the zex was the easiest to install, but i was alot happier with the nx setup. but if you have had no prior expericance using nitrous or installing it, the zex kit would prob be your best bet if your gonna do it all yourself.

the zex kit comes with 46 parts. ill tell you how the install goes tomarrow.

by the way, i have an aem cold air intake. what do i use to drill the hole in it? i was a little confused, it says this. "Drill a 9/16 inch mounting hole and install the bulk head fitting. be sure to remove any drill shavings since they can severely damage your engine. install the nitrous nozzle so that the spray is in the direction of air-flow. we've enclosed a tap should you need to mount the nozzle in a metal duct(thats what i need). just drill a 11/32 inch hole where you want to mount the nozzle."

im confused. why is there such a size difference in the bit they give and the bit your suppose to use. do i need the 9/16 bit or do i just need to use the 11/32 bit that comes with it. can some one just explain how to install it in a metal intake? a quick answer would be most appreciated since i will be starting this bright and early tomarrow. thanks for you help.

thanks

*EDIT* one more thing

i have a 420a. what is the best way to hook the fuel up? do i have that nice easy access point at the end of the fuel rail, or do i need to cut the fuel line and tee it? thanks for you help

To tap for fuel on a 420A, look at your fuel rail. There is a scheriader valve on the fuel rail passanger side. Just screw on the hose and your done. No need to cut a fuel line. If you need help I have plenty of pics of my old set up

ya i saw that and i was wondering if you just had to unscrew that cap. thanks.. what about the drilling of the intake?

I screwed up drilling into my intake, thats how I ended up getting rid of my short ram :p Its best to do it right before the bend to the throttle body. You want the nozzle to face directly into the throttle body and its easy to get better clearence on the underside of the intake.

what did you use to drill it though? the bit that came with it or another one?

I used the tap that came with mine.

how does that tap actually drill into it since the head of it is flat? do you have to drill a pilot hole? and i got some wiring questions too... oh jeez am i getting into something i cant do? where is the TPS lead i connect to? where do i connect to get the 12 volts signal. what are all those colorul electrical things for? thanks for your help i appreciate it.

Not trying to be a smart ass but if you aren't sure how to use a tap you might be getting in a little over your head.
You must drill a pilot hole the right size for your tap, once the hole is drilled you then start to tap it. But becareful you don't snap your tap off.
Use oil to help the cutting and cooling process, AND GO SLOW !
As far as clean up MAKE sure every little shaving of metal is cleaned up. and there will be lots.
As far as your wirnig, get a good wiring guide for your car.
Which I might be able to hook you up with if you haven't already done all this stuff.
Good Luck

well i appreciate the help, but the projects been done for 2 weeks now. my aem intake seemed to thin to thread, so i just drilled the 9/16 hole, and used the bulk head that came with it. ya i got all the shavings out, and i figured out the wiring too. i wrote a tech article on it, its in the fuel and engine section i believe. i gott to change some of it tho, cause im told some of the stuff isnt track legal the way i installed it. it works perfectly fine, but the track has super strict safety rules that it wouldnt pass. thanks for the help tho.

Very cool, got it all working.
I will look up the write up you did to check it out.
I wouldn't mind adding Nitro sometime.
Take care
Jay
