I decided while my engine is out I might as well build it. My piston choice is between the Wiseco HD forged pistons (they claim they can withstand 350hp per cylinder!!!!!) or CP forged pistons? I used CP pistons and Pauter rods in a supra I built that was putting down 743hp, but I dont know the best choice for a dsm. Compression ratio will be 9 to 1 and the turbo I plan to match up is the FP HTA GT3586r which should be good for around 730hp. I appreciate opinions. BTW im probably going to go with Pauter X beam rods. Thanks everyone!

Most people go with Wiseco over CP and you don't need go with Pauter rods. Manley I-beam or even the cheap Eagle H-beam can handle 800 hp. It's best to save yourself the money because going over the 500-600 hp you'll need the excess cash cause something will go wrong.

I would never buy another Wesico product... Ive had 2 sets of their quote "hd high performance pistons" with nothing but problems with them. Both sets had skirt problems. No issues with clearance ( no machine work problems ) I always had high oil pressure and steady afrs. I sent them back to weisco they said the set melted due to the wrong ring end gap ( weisco admited that the instructions supplied in the box were wrong. - an error on their part ) They "helped me out" buy selling me a cheep set of pistons ( $200+ ) The new set lasted only a few thousand miles. I spoke to many companys who claim that they are getting more and more complaints about weiscos products. - This is only my opinion but save yourself a money and STAY AWAY FROM WEISCO PISTONS. :notgood:

well i head of people that really budget by using forged pistons with stock rods and just replacing the rod bolts with ARP rod bolts. im running cp pistons with the Eagle H beams just for my satisfication.

Wow! This makes sense why would weiseco have to even make a hp version if what we have been using for year was problem free. I think the hp on the front of the piston is suppose to let those who have had problems in the past know that there is some sort of improvement with the piston I guess:toobad:
