well i decided to go w/ pioneer!

but now i can't decided between 7500 vs 7600

i jsut found the 7600 on ebay. so they're both about the same price.

7600 is 04model but it has 2vpre outs

what you guys think?

so i just called pioneer to ask their input and they told me some interesting info, he said the pioneer decks won't play copyright protect mp3!!!

so pretty much every song that i burn!

is this true????

i don't know about Pioneers, but JVC's will play anything, copywritten or not. I would go with a JVC. I've had JVC stuff in my various cars for six years and only got rid of them (HU's or Changers) to upgrade to better model JVC's. Never let me down. JVC gets my vote:thumb:

and no, I dont work for them;)

That's impossible. When you id3 tag an mp3 you can enable copyright protection on it and that's probably what they're talking about. Just don't enable the protection and you'll be fine.

My wife has a sony-mp70 Very nice full range sound with her pioneer 6x8's and Audiobahn flame q's. I started off with a pioneer deh6500 hated it, the I went to a sony cdx-m8800, very nice,4 volt sub outs, 52 watts/ 23.5 watts a channel, the sound is awesome, I have a rockford 301m pushing 2 12 in punch's right now and i can't sit in the car, way louder and cleaner that the pioneer I had. I got it from bestbuy BTW for 330$. And it plays mp3's

I don't know what you guys are thinkin when it comes to pioneer, i don't know about the latest models, but everythign i've tried or dealt with from them before has been crap! And i won't touch anything sony anymore since i had their xplode speakers in my car, complete CRAP! (not to mention my friend nick has one of the higher end h/u's in his cougar that don't even seem that great)

I swear by kenwood. I've had 2 kenwood decks already, my latest is the kdc-x969. It's awesome. got great quality features and looks great too. I will admit i bought that one cuz it looks so damn cool LOL. (doesn't look the very best, but im very into quality sound too) I don't think i'll change stereos again for a LONG time with this one. and i've already had it for almost a year.

Also, i've heard some pretty good things about the alpines, like the 7998 (i believe???) with the oversized faces, can't go by firsthand, but when lookin at the specs, it's seemin pretty damn nice (just gotta have an external amp, but when you're worrying about quality, you'll want an external amp, won't you??)

I have the 7500mp

Sounds great (Even makes stock speakers sound nice)
Impresses ppl with the OEL Display
Had no problems with it
3 pair RCAs
4 volt output
Good Price for awesome features unlike expensive Alpines with crap displays

I recommend PIONEER!

All my downloaded mp3s play perfectly

they say that for legal purposes

OH YEAH....IT ALSO NEVER SKIPS!!!!

I still have my clarion 755dz that I bought in very very early 1999. I think it was the second one we sold at my store.
It is still running fine. Nicest thing about Clarion is when you plug in a new accessory on Cnet the head will automatically detect it and it will start working. You don't have to toggle thru a MD or CD changer option you aren't using when switching modes.
You can also do multiple changers if you wish.

Second reason I prefer it on an Eclipse/Talon is the changer is an exact fit horizontally in the little pocket in the "trunk" next to the spare. I set mine horizontal and laid a piece of carpet backed with stiff cardboard over the top. It looks like the pocket is only as deep as the floor. If I want I can turn it vertical instead and put 2 in... (will probably add the dvd changer right next to it. All I had to do was reshape the changer mounting bracket to match the curve of the plastic. Clarions also use an aiwa changer cartridge which is less expensive.

Pioneer is solid and long lasting, but I hate their wiring when you add a changer, they need RCA and power connections in addition to the bus connnection, Alpine has good rep but I am not familiar with whether or not it is an all in one connector.
Sony needs Rcas...

Anyway just something to think about
All major brands are good units now, you don't find the type of Garbage you did 5 years ago.

Get 4V preouts.
I had a great system in my former car (a 74 MGB) with this same clarion head and it was great. MY car had a Pioneer when I bought it so I swapped it to the clarion. The mgb sounded much much worse on the 2v outputs from the pioneer.
The Talon sounded better just on the Deck power (not using preouts at first.) of the Clarion vs. the Pioneer.

Best of Luck, sure you will be happy with whatever you get... got to be better than the stock infinity crud
