Which Generation Talon Is Best To Get ???

im thinkin of gettin a talon maybe this summer and i was wounderin what the best generation is to buy, whichever year it is, it has to be a AWD .

Hmm this isnt really an easy question, its up to your personal preference. Second generations will be more money, and in my opinion, a little softer all around. However first generations will be older, many have high mileage, and most have had a rough life. The other argument is looks. I'm partial to a 1g, because I have one, but I also agree with many that the 2g is damn sexy. As far as a mechanical standpoint, the car to get is a mid 92. AWD's had a 4 bolt rear, and a 6 bolt motor. Good luck, and like I said, its your preference

i need it for racin like autocross or whatever it is , so it has to handle nice. I know it will need some suspention stuff as well.

Is your main reason for buying it to auto-cross?? If so there's other cars that will be tons more competitive.

yea mostly for autocross,maybe once and a while track car, but its also going to be a daily drive and i like the look of the talons

The E/L/T cars are a tad on the heavy side for autocross if you are looking for something purely for that. I autocross my car 5-8 races a year and really I may be one of the fastest in my class its only really because I have been racing alot longer then the rest.

If you just want to autocross then find a miata, mr2 spider, or another light mid power car.

i like the look of my 2g for talons its 95 and above the awd model is the tsi awd

however the 1g talons have some great looks also those are the 94 and below

its all preference take a look around at both types compare your likes and dislikes

u can pick up a 1g for cheap but u can also find a good deal on a 2g too

just compare and good luck

Anything with AWD and a manual gear box. That's the important part. There is good and bad with both the 1G and the 2G. If it's not a stinking front drive or your not crippled by an automatic tranny, you are way ahead of the curve.

please dont bring up the crankwalk sh!t. if you want to know about just use that little button at the top that says "search". there are probably 50 threads on this topic alone. and i prefer the 1gb talons but thats just my $.02
