Which fobs are compatible with 1998 eclipse spyder?

I recently found out my 1988 eclipse spyder gst has remote/keyless entry. I need to order a fob and I know how to program them. I was wondering if any other fobs or remotes are compatible like a newer eclipse remote. I just want I avoid paying $40+ for one from a dealership.

Not that I know of, any different key fob that is going to work will cost some money. $40 isn't to bad for a key less entry.

The dealer near me wanted 150 for a fob. And then another 45 to program it. I still don't have a fob . I was not going to just pay them that much just for the remote.

Wow that sucks a lot. Looks like I'll bite the bullet, pay the money, an program it myself.

Our dealer could not longer get the ones for our '96 Talon, so we ordered from remotesandkeys.com, and $28 later, we had two remotes. Programming takes 2 minutes and a paperclip.

the http://www.keylessride.com/ is fairly popular on here. they have programing instructions and a couple of options for remotes, they work with the stock keyless system.

I just got one off of ebay for 30. What I just did was call the dealer and got the part number for the remote and looked it up online to get the FCC ID#. I don't know if they are the same numbers for you but you can call the dealer and they will give you the number that you need.

So the Dodge/Chrysler remotes would work?

That's the part number that the dealer gave me. Just call up the parts department and ask for the remote part number for your year spyder. They should give it to you and then look that number up for they FCC id # . I typed the FCC# into ebay to get mine.
