Hey, I'm new here...and working on a Project. A 1995 GSX!

The block is a 1G 7 bolt and the head is a 2G. I'm curious as to what ECU I should use. I've gotten the gist that it's more block-than-head dependent and that a 1G GSX/GS-T ECU should work just fine - is this correct? Or do I need a 2G or even because of the combo some more advanced engine management?

Thanks!

The car is ECU-less, but I guess the 2G makes perfect sense now...I don't really want to redo an entire wiring harness.

Use the 2G ECU. The CAS is going to be the biggest problem to solve. I would try to wire in a 1G CAS to provide both the crank sensor signal and the cam sensor signal.

If it's the stock 2Ga head, it has the cam sensor under the intake cam sprocket and no provision at the other end of the cam. You'll have to have the head machined to fit a 1G CAS if that's the case.

If you're using a 95-96 ECU with any different year CAS, you'll probably need to have an electronic fix for the inverted signal. ECMLink will do it, or you can probably still find the signal inverter box that hardly anybody ever used.
