I have put BC 272/272 cams with BC springs and retainers. I also have AEM cam gears. I wanted to get bigger and better cams with springs and retainers. I wanted to know which would you use for a build like mines. I was thinking about the Kelford 280/276 or the 288/280. Link is below to my build.

kiggly beehives hands down for the springs. as far as the cams what kind of power are you lookin to make. you can make some good power with those 272s and i def. wouldnt do the 288 if you want to drive the car on the street

It's not HP that kill springs, it's the revs. you push the car to. It all plays part to what turbo you want to run and which cams. Each will be most efficent is a certain RPM range and you want the springs to be able to match that range to prevent valve float.

Would B.C. handle that kind of HP?

If the OP takes his time to do some other work on the cams like cryogenics-treated or something then it should be able to. It does seem to me that a higher duration cams would be somewhat overkill for a street set-up, I mean its all top-end. I'm under the assumption that this car is for anything BUT street. Though 800 HP would mean completely re-doing everything on the engine to be able to handle that much power out of a 4-banger. The only 4G63 equipped car that I know that can handle up to 600 HP with a stock bottom is the AMS EVO. Though that particular engine only lasted about 4 runs and they had to rebuild it.

As I stated earlier, stiffer springs are just so you don't have valve float with higher duration cams along with higher rpm numbers. If the OP is wondering about the springs and what they can do, he/she needs to check with the manufacture on the spring pressure at different lifts. If they are strong enough to prevent valve lift with the selected cams, then they will be fine. I wouldn't run more than 8500-9000 RPM on the BCs.

Go with the Kelford 280/276, it has a much more lift than the BC280 cams. It'll work wonder on a big turbo. As for the Kelford 288/280, you'll need go to a solid lifter conversion which are loud and will need to continually adjusted.

Just go for Kiggly Beehive or dual valve springs, I just don't think B.C. springs/retainers is going to handle the high powerband that higher degree cams do there work in.

I hate to bring this off topic and I know that beehive springs are great but can they handle as high or higher REV points and be more reliable than dual valve springs. I paid big money for a set of Ferrea duals and then the beehive came which are much cheaper.

Beehive springs are MUCH better. Check out some videos dealing with the beehive design. They have been around for a long long long time. THe kigglys for sure will take whatever RPM you want to throw at them. Ferrea is a good company so I wouldn't doubt the craftsmanship on the duals, but I know that dual springs are much harsher on the valve train though.

Huh... well I wonder why Ferrea still makes dual valve springs when customers could buy their much better beehives much cheaper.
I don't know why people would still buy the dual springs unless they think that they are superior. Here is some information though.
