Glowshift guage shows about 23 idle, stewart warner 16. With a mighty vac glowshift appears to be pretty close to a little high, warner low. I suspect the stewart warner is way low, 23 vacuum at idle about right?

I'll buy a new autometer and compare before I throw any away. Thanks!

Who says Autometer's read correct? I've ran 3 or 4 Autometer's over the years & none of them read exactly correct. Best was +/- 1psi but have also had them 4-5psi off (& from new as well). Like most automotive gauges, they are over priced junk.

I've had best luck with electronic (sender unit vs mechanical) automotive gauges but they do run a great deal more vs a mechanical gauge.

My car's been sitting for a little more than a year, and somehow it has managed to produce vacuum w/no engine. At least that's what the Autometer Sport-Comp boost gauge is saying..... I had a sport-comp boost gauge before this one that I had to replace because it went bad also.

Glowshift's are awful. I sent mine back to be recalibrated 3 times before I finally just told them to keep it. SW's are pretty good for the money, I like them better than Autometer. In/vac should be 12-15ish. 23 would be collapsing hoses. I recommend dynotunenitrous.com for guages. They're made from a nice hunk of billet aluminum, they're digital which takes out the guess work when you're wide open in 3rd and 4th, and they come with a medical grade pressure transducer so they're super accurate.
