Which Boost Controller?

Christmas is coming up and i decided i wanna move up from my manual boost controller but i dont no which one to get i was lookin into the hks type 1 but im dumbfounded on wht to get any thoughts?

AEM truboost is a good one..Also if you plan on modding more in the future..Dsmlink(ecmlink) has a built in boost controller..

I like it wht do u think is a good mounting place if i got it? cause the round controllers wouldnt fit on the column

Truboost is the controller & boost gauge in one...Just get a pillar pod & get a matching AEM Wideband and call it a day

I have an AEM TrueBoost. works great. nice and simple to use, and you can have two programmable boost settings, like one for daily driving and one for the track.

Gizzmo msibc is a good choice, has great features and easy two wire install. Gizzmo Electronics Pty Ltd, specialists in performance ecu upgrades/chips, dyno tuning, performance products including MS2, MS-2, IBC, MSIBC, MS2, MS-2, boost controllers, launch controllers, Dualstage, tachrecall shiftlights, vtec controllers, shift But if you plan on using ecmlink just go that route, boost by rpm already built in. You just need a solenoid which is about $40 from link guys.

I really like my AEM Tru boost, but if you do get it make sure you watch these videos on setting it up:

I have an AEM TrueBoost. works great. nice and simple to use, and you can have two programmable boost settings, like one for daily driving and one for the track.

Along with a scramble boost, and boost alarm along with shutting back down to wastegate pressure if overboosting occurs (Saved me the other day). A lot of nice features.

I have one love it and will never use anything else. Well except maybe link but I got that after I already had the truboost. I guess that's 1 v3 option I'll never use

As mentioned it is an optional feature. If you are using it and have it setup properly then it has a failsafe where it will default to wastegate pressure.

This provides some safe guard against a solenoid failing in a deactivated state (typical failure state) or becoming electrically disconnected. In either of those failures, you would simply end up with wastegate pressure (typically around 10-15psi) as your resulting boost pressure.

If your profile is up to date, you got other things to spend money on that would do a lot more for you than an EBC would. Are you just thinking of this to help get traction with your FWD? For the cost of an EBC you could be set up with something to tune with and be able to just do ECU-controlled boost with a cheap solenoid.

I plan on using the AEM truboost and AEM wideband and thinking about putting them in the center air vent. From allot of research on the truboost, I couldn't find a single negative review on it.

I've had my Greddy Profec B Spec 2 for years and years and I love it. I used it in my Evo, and now in my Talon. It's a great unit.

I personally do not like nor have i had good luck with the hks boost controller. I have used the Greddy Profec B Spec 2 and i love it in my evo but will be upgrading to aem ems boost control. from what i have seen and been told a properly set up ecu boost control is hands down better. so definitely check out ecu boost control

The AEM TRU boost is a good deal if you don't want to run alot of boost. Then you have to buy the extra sensor to allow more boost. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of it.

I use the Gizzmo EBC. This thing is awesome. 6 boost presets, nice display, easy to install...it has everything.

You don't need to use the boost function in link, in fact you need to buy a solenoid to be able to.

Well I dont want to jack this thread but is the boost by gear in ecmlink the same thing as boost control with their system.

In my particular case which would be a road race car I would use no boost at all on 1st gear, maybe 10 to 15 in 2nd gear, maybe the same on 3rd gear, and increase on 4th and 5th being as conservative as possible, but if need it could the manual control override the ecu, that is going higher on boost when making a pass.
