spiking too much with the manual due to wastegate "lag" from how fast the turbo is spooling... which electronic boost controller is the best and cost effective way to help this?

I have the old style Greddy profec b. They're fairly cheap, and I get no spike whatsoever. The only thing about it you may not like is the fact that the highest boost you can run with it is double what your wastegate actuator spring holds. I couldn't run any higher than 20 psi with my old 16g (10psi actuator). I now have an external wastegate with a 16lb spring so that's no longer an issue.

Profec B or if you have the money the Blitz one ~500 can't rember the name, are from what I have heard the two best. The Profec B is considerably cheaper though.

Those puny models are nothing compared to the great and mighty power of...FUZY LOGIC!!!! ahahahaha get a Profec A yeah!..

No really get one, it is damn good

The bad thing about the Blitz is that it's kind of kludgy to switch levels.

You have to hit select, turn the knob to which one you want, then hit the button again.

I'm not sure if they have a remote button for a quick switch, but it isn't included in the standard package.
