Which better to log with DSMlink, map or W02?

I have read that the mdp input on the ecu can be used to input an additional channel of data for logging purposes. So far i have heard that boost can be monitored with a gm 3 bar map sensor, or that a wideband o2 signal can be logged.

My question is which would be a better idea to log? Also is it a simple matter of installing say the PLX wide band 02 kit, and ruing the narrow band output to the o2 input on the ecu, and the wide band output to the mdp input?

thanks.

thats realy amazing, i was so excited about the dsmlink but wished it could have some sort of wide band logging, i guess my wish has been answered, is the mod for this availible on the dsmlink forums?

So i would want to tune for stoich? or leaner, and use knock and timign advance to see if i have gone too far?

ya use a wide band o2. the dsmlink still uses the stock o2 sensor witch is not perfect. i going to use dsmlink with the aem uego guage for tunning.

Do NOT tune to a stoich ratio (14.7:1), you will detonate your motor quick.

Start with a concervative tune at like 11:1 and then start pulling out fuel at the RPM points untill you see knock or timing being pulled and richen it back up at the RPM you see knock enough to stop the knock/timing reduction. You will probably end up in the 11.5:1-12.5:1 range throught the RPM range after you are done tuning with little to no knock on pump gas.

I am talking only about WOT only, the ECU actually does strive for around 14:1-14.7:1 at idle and cruise conditions.

Good luck tuning and don't blow up your engine!

ok so then once i have a good fuel tune, i change the timing till there is knock then back it off?
