Hey guys I recently purchased a Autometer Fuel pressure gauge.. The only thing is, I need some help finding an ideal location for it. I made a layout of what I THINK might be ideal, but I'm not sure.

I was hoping you guys could give me some input on the location of this. I was planning to tee into the fuel line right before the fuel rail, after the FMU has raised the FP. That way I have an idea of the FP in real time going to my rail. I have a SS braided 4AN line that bolts right up to my gauge, and I was planning to run this through the firewall into my cabin.

Things I am concerned about, PLEASE give input if you can..

- Disrupting fuel flow directly before the rail
- Recieving accurate reading
- An ideal location

I posted this in both 420a and 4g63 forums because this really isn't application specific, its more of a general thing. I know both 420a and 4g63 guys are very knowledable so I'm looking for your opinions! Thanks as always guys! :thumb:

That would be a fine location, for the best reading.
I really don't think 4an line would hurt fuel flow. maybe at start-up, but once the line is primed it should be fine.

Are you running a return line?

NO WAY.

Are you thinking of running a fuel line into the cabin of your car? Thats a big no no for any tech inspection.

I know you can do it for a non track car, but I sure as hell wouldnt want fuel in my car if something goes wrong.

Yeah that's what I said. It's a SS braided line and no, my car is not a track car; it's a DD. SS lines don't leak and the pressure of my fuel system is nowhere near enough to puncture or implode the SS line.

I've talked to my mechanic and a few others with some experience and they've told me I should be fine with running the line into my cabin. It's really no big deal as long as there is no leak.

1Slow97- I thought it was too small too, but that's what the gauge calls for in the box. And no, for the gauge I am not running a return line. I'm guessing there is a sensor in the back of the gauge to dtermine what fuel pressure is being forced up into the gauge by the line. Have you ever seen a FP gauge with a return line?

I meant 4an is not to small. 4an is abought the size you would want to run to any fuel gauge.
As for the return line, I was thinking of something else. I forgot the 95 has the the fuel reg on the rail...

Even on a dd i would not run a fuel line into the cabin. But thats just me, cause my luck id get t-boned and somehow the fuel line would get cut and spray fuel allover me and that would not be good LOL

yes that is a good location, and I too would recommend AGAINST running a fuel line into the cabin. I think you would be alot better off just buying an electric pressure sending type FP gauge. I have one from Stewart Warner and it reads dead on with the Autometer that I used to have mounted right on the FPR.
