You need to get a picture of the ecu cover off.

This is not entirely a true statement...some 96 models that were produced in 95 before they discontinued eproms had them.Further, it is a 1996? There are no 1996 eproms.

That's what I've been trying to do. Unfortunately, people are trying to sell used ECMlink V3 Lite for $600-$700, which is more than if I just bought it brand new. There's not many used 20G's out there (but there are plenty of used 16G's) since the 20G or 50/60 trim turbos are what many people end up using when all is said and done. I will probably pick up some used injectors though, and maybe a used w/b and boost gauge.i would try classified ads for used parts to reach your goals. you already have a basic idea of what you want to get. look around a bit and i feel the evo III 16g would be big enough for your goals.
Yep MD302726 1994 -1995 Mirage 1.8l Federal.
I think it will somewhat work. But I don't believe you will have the ability to log knock; it's from a n/a platform. I'm not sure how the 2g board works (that mirage ecu looks like a 2g board). But as far as I know, the definition file for it in tunerpro doesn't locate any code to alter the knock sensor usage. Clicky. I'm not sure if there will be any other features you'll have to go without by using that ecu.
(still waiting on where you got the info that some 1996 models had eproms from the factory), you should just buy that ecu for $30. . . And experiment with it. I bet you could do alot with the tunerpro program with that ecu. You already have a definition file ready to go!It was from an older gentleman that worked for Mitsu back when these cars were new and since some 96 model year cars are made in 95 a few, supposedly, slipped through with eproms in them. He said it was kind of like the "some extreme/zq8 s10's had the rear anti-hop shock and some didn't" GM discrepancy/inconsistency. (If anyone even knows that story) However, the guy with the $30 eprom is still trying to sell me on this ECU. Now he's saying the original pictures he had with the cover on and the model numbers were ones he found online as an example for the craigslist add and the picture he sent with the cover off (the one I posted here) is a picture of the actual ECU. He also offered to have the socket put in and let me have it for $100. But I told him how can he now prove that his ECM is legit since he already, supposedly, posted false pictures and can just google the correct model numbers and say that's what he is selling to me. I have yet to get a response haha!(still waiting on where you got the info that some 1996 models had eproms from the factory)
