Hello all im looking for a replacement egt probe for my vdo gauge everyone recommends tre but i cant locate them on there website, and also emailed [email protected] but cant get a response.

So my question is does anyone know where to purchase one if not what is another good one to purchase.

Àre you saying you have used that one and it works good fast reading like a tre one. Thanks for your help. Ill keep on pestering team rip.

I have not used this one. I simply gave a link to a fast reading ktype probe that works well on exhausts.

Keep trying Jon.

Ive got a question. Ive got the Autometer Sport Comp EGT gauge. If any of you have a basis for comparison, how's the Autometer sender compare to the TRE in terms of response? Mine seems to be very responsive, but if there's room for significant improvement, Id like to know...

Unexposed ungrounded sensors generally have the slowest response times. The smaller the diameter the better, but 1/8" (for use with a 1/8" compression fitting) is pretty standard for automotive stuff.

Exposing the thermocouple junction can improve response time, but the exposure to the hot exhaust gas will corrode the junction and shorten the life span.

There are several companies that now sell eroding junction thermocouples that offer quick response of the exposed sensors, and the life time of the unexposed. But you pay $$ for this.

All ungrounded K-type thermocouples are interchangeable. So you can try different sensors until you find one that fits your needs.

I've yet to get my gauge in the car to test the 2 types out and compare head to head.
