Fuel pump sending unit 2g AWD DSM 95-99​

This is for my project car I’ve been building up for months. I finally finished all the parts I needed but I’ve been trying to look for this part. I’m just a 17 year old trying to build his dream car. Btw I’m fixing up a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 1998/99 Please email me @ [email protected]

Unfortunately my friend, that part has been discontinued for quite some time by Mitsubishi. And I am unsure if anyone has found an aftermarket alternative. The only way to get one now is to go on eBay, your local junkyard, or one of the DSM part out websites. Your other option is one of the FullBlown double pump hangers if you need to buy new. But that is not going to be cheap and likely totally unnecessary. On top of that, given the condition of that hanger and pump assembly, that fuel tank likely needs a good cleaning and the factory hard lines might be of concern as well.

That appears to be the driver side sender. Which only handles the siphon pickup and the driver side fuel level sender.

Try soaking it in vinegar for 24-48 hours. Scrub all the corrosion off as best as you can with various brushes and pads. We were able to salvage my buddies sending unit. Here is a picture his before The vinegar bath.

I don’t have an after picture but it worked perfectly after he was done. We both were extremely surprised because we didn’t think we could salvage it. Here is a picture of the rubber gasket that goes around the sending unit. It’s still available from Mitsubishi still and you should get one regardless if you buy a used unit or not.

The options were laid out for you:
1. Clean this one as suggested in post #5 in your first thread.
2. Buy the used one available right now in the classifieds, or find a similar used replacement.
3. Buy a new Full Blown dual pump hanger.

Every time there is a reply to your thread, it moves to the top. Also, there is one for sale right now, as was linked in your original thread. If buying a replacement is your top choice, I would move quickly on that one. As I mentioned, these have been discontinued for quite some time and are difficult to find.
