I saw on the VFAQ website it told me to not use kinds that said GL-5, but I cannot find the proper weight oils that are GL-4. It suggests some specific kinds like Redline MTL or MT90, BG Synchroshift, and GM synchromesh. All of which I could not find at Autozone, Advanced auto parts, or NAPA. The only gear oil I saw that was similar to any of those was Pennzoil synchromesh that said it was GM spec. but it didn't have any info on weight or whether it was GL-4 or GL-5.

Bingo. "Syncromesh" is a specific formulation that is produced by many fluid companies including Penzoil. It does not have a posted Viscosity Rating as is designed for specific GM and CryCo transmissions.

Check HERE and HEREfor details :dsm:

I found on the first link about pennzoil that it mentioned DSMs so I guess I have my answer. I would buy those better oils online but since I just put my tranny back in and have to fill it up I was looking at getting the oil in one day. Thanks for all the info guys.:thumb:
