Where To Buy Heater Core for 99 Eclipse GST

Going to buy a 99 Eclipse GST but it has a bad heater core. Where can I get one other than a junk yard or ebay. Thanks

seems too new of a car to be bad.

I would have to agree with the above post. It's usually the expansion valve that will go bad before the core will. Now, if it's leaking coolant into the cabin of the car, then that's another story. I'm not 100% sure if this is a dealership only part, but I would tell you to go there.

Well the guy said the heater core was bad, so I was just going with what he told me. He has a front mount ic, bigger turbo, headers, blah blah blah etc installed.. So I would assume he knows what hes talking about. But when I go look at it.. i'll ask if it leaks into the cabin. Is there anyway to visual inspect what the probem is ie: expansion valve problems w/o having to rip off the dash and etc.

No expansion valve on the heater, just on the air conditioning evaporator.

Well I got more info on it, says its steaming thru the vents... Sooo cracked heater core he says. Could just bypass it for now until I find one. Any aftermarket ones on a website I could get?

since it seems like you don't know too much about this type of problem, i would take it to a mits dealer before you buy it & have them look @ it first. otherwise you might get ripped off & it may be a bigger or different problem.

you don't want aftermarket on a part like that, especially with all the work you have to do to get it replaced.
